Is ISO 45001 worth it for a smaller mid-sized company?
If customers or tenders demand it: yes. Independently of that, it structures occupational safety in a way that puts senior management in a better position from a liability point of view.
Do we have to implement ISO 45001 and 14001 together?
No — they can run independently. In practice an integrated implementation pays off if the structures are being built anyway.
How deep do you go into technical topics (plant safety, hazardous substances)?
We work methodically — for very specialised technical questions (e.g. explosion protection documents) we bring in external specialists on request or support your own experts.
Can you take on the role of safety specialist?
No — appointing an occupational safety specialist is a regulated role under German law. But we work closely with your safety specialist, internal or external.
How does ISO 14001 fit with sustainability reporting (CSRD)?
ISO 14001 delivers data and structures that support CSRD reporting — we take that into account in the build so you do not collect twice.
How often should hazard assessments be updated?
Whenever there are material changes (new equipment, processes, substances) — and routinely at least every two years.
